Members of the red hat club get to be great friends over the years they spend getting to know each other and it's no small thing for those members to want to throw a retirement party for a friend who will soon be leaving the workforce. Food for the event doesn't have to be expensive. Brew some tea and make up a couple batches of cookies. Have the guests each bring something small for a potluck, which will make it easier for you and provide a variety of tastes for the guests to consider. They can also take home their own dirty dishes for clean up after the party.
